Getting Ready for Your First Semester at Lehman

Getting Your Lehman ID: You can come to the Lehman campus to get your physical ID (make sure you bring some type of photo ID with you). Click here for more information. You can also access the Lehman campus by showing your digital ID via Lehman 360 on your smartphone.

Accessing Your Schedule: Go to CUNYfirst Student Center and select Schedule Builder (or Course Planning and Enrollment for a list view).

Finding Where Your Class Meets: Your schedule contains information about the classes you are enrolled in including days, times, room number, instruction modes, textbooks, etc. Our Lehman College Campus Map will help you find where your classes will take place.

In-person classes are intended to be taken in a physical classroom setting during scheduled class meeting times.

Hybrid classes are a combination of in-person and online instruction.

Online Synchronous classes required students to be virtually present at the time of instruction. All required instructional hours are online.

Online Asynchronous classes require all contact hours to be held online asynchronously and allows students to access materials and assignments on a flexible schedule in accordance with deadlines set by the professor.

Navigate 360: The Navigate 360 app allows you to quickly schedule appointments with your advisors, academic departments, student support services, and financial services. You can also check your holds, to-do items, and class schedule. You will need your CUNYfirst credentials to login to Navigate.

Lehman 360: The Lehman 360 app will keep you up to date with personalized information, such as GPA, academic standing, course schedule, financial aid, declaring your major, all in one, user-friendly place. Logging into Lehman 360, also brings you one click away from CUNY and Lehman College systems, including Blackboard, CUNYfirst, DegreeWorks, and Navigate.

Lehman Student Email: All important information from faculty, advisors, and administrators will be sent to your student email account. Visit Lehman Student Email to access your email address. Your password is the same as the one you created for your Lehman 360 account.

CUNYfirst: CUNYfirst offers a range of essential functions for students. You can access systems such as Blackboard, DegreeWorks, Schedule Builder, from your CUNYfirst Student Center. You can also access enrollment verification letters, financial information, and contact information.

Blackboard: Blackboard is an online learning management system used by colleges for course materials, assignments, quizzes, and communication between students and professors. Students use it to access course resources, submit assignments, take quizzes, and participate in discussions.

DegreeWorks: DegreeWorks is an online tool used by colleges to help students track their academic progress towards completing their degree requirements. Students and advisors use it to plan courses, view degree requirements, and monitor progress towards graduation.

Student Disability Services: If you are a student with a disability or medical condition, either temporary or permanent, please reach out to the Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) at 718 960-8441 or send an email to disability.services@lehman.cuny.edu.

Tutoring Services: The Instructional Support Services Program at Lehman College offers free tutoring in writing, humanities and social sciences as well as academic coaching on study skills in the Lehman Tutoring Center. Tutoring for natural sciences is offered in the The Science Learning Center. Math tutoring is also available in the Mathematics and Statistics Student Success Center - MS3.

Counseling Center: Are you feeling overwhelmed? Unmotivated? Not yourself? The Counseling Center is a safe place to talk about any concerns you have. The Counseling Center offers free and confidential services in a safe environment.

IT Help Desk: The IT Help Desk provides assistance with campus technology support issues. They are located in the Academic IT Center, in Room 108 of Carman Hall. 

Career Services: The Career Exploration & Development Center is dedicated to educating, advising, and connecting students to career and post graduate opportunities. The staff are experts in providing guidance and services to currently enrolled students, alumni, faculty and staff. 

Student Health Center: The Student Health Center is a primary care facility available to all Lehman College students with a validated ID Most of the services are free of charge, while some have a small fee.

These are the kinds of financial aid Lehman College students typically receive:

Grants (PELL/TAP): Money that does not have to be repaid and usually is awarded on the basis of financial need. You must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a separate application for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) to be considered for these grants.

Scholarships: Money that does not have to be repaid and usually is awarded on the basis of academic merit. See a list of scholarship opportunities here.

Work-Study: Money earned from a job provided by the Financial Aid Office at the College. Click here for information about Federal Work-Study.

Loans: Money that is borrowed for college and must be repaid with interest. Click here for more information about loans.

Students can make tuition payments, and sign up for payment plans through their CUNYfirst Financial Account. Click here for other payment options.

Make sure you are aware of all deadlines for tuition payment by regularly checking your Lehman email, personal email, and the Academic Calendar. Tuition Liability: Courses dropped on or after the first day of the semester/session can incur a tuition liability charge. If a student needs to make changes to their schedule, they must do so prior to the start of the semester/session to avoid avoid being liable for tuition. Click here for more information.
