Compliance Training

The University’s Employee Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Course (ESPARC) and Workplace Violence Prevention Training (WVP) will be available for employees for the 2024-2025 academic year.

For ESPARC and for WVP, all part-time employees, including adjuncts, are responsible for completing both training courses by the end of the current semester to ensure their completion is logged by the University. Inactive employees on a short work break or leave of absence in CUNYfirst will not have access to the courses.

While it is encouraged that employees complete the training online, live sessions on your campus maybe conducted, if needed. As always, administrators would be responsible for keeping track of attendance during the live sessions and manually entering the grade for the participants in Blackboard for proper tracking to occur.

In compliance with New York State law and CUNY Policy, all Human Resources Professionals and campus supervisors and managers with at least one direct report are required to complete the new Gender Based Violence Training (GBVT), which is committed to ensuring a survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive response for all employees experiencing domestic or gender-based violence, at least once every academic year.

All trainings are available to employees via CUNY Blackboard. Once in Blackboard, the link to complete the training can be found in the My Organization section. All required employees will have until May 30, 2025, to complete the training.

How to Access ESPARC, GBVT and WVP Trainings:

  • Log-in to Blackboard · You can find Blackboard login instructions here.

IT Security Training

Why is IT Security important at CUNY?

  • We are required by law to protect the privacy of personal data belonging to our faculty, staff and students.
  • We must ensure that our academic and administrative systems continue to be available to run the business of the University and to serve our faculty, students, and staff.
  • We must maintain accurate University data and prevent unauthorized changes.
