- Professional Communications — emphasizes verbal communication and multimedia skills for specific sectors.
- Business & Entrepreneurship for Creative Arts Professionals (BECAP) — is a practical and customized preparation for entrepreneurs, artists, and business majors interested in working in the arts.
Each minor includes a range of relevant courses enabling students to hone their skills in professional writing, using both traditional formats and new media platforms, and to prepare and deliver in-person and web-based presentations.
Students from any department seeking to burnish their professional writing and presentation skills for the twenty-first-century marketplace will find each of these minors an invaluable complement to their chosen major.
To successfully earn a minor through PPC, students must be enrolled at least part-time and retain good academic standing. Half of all courses must be unique to the minor.
More on the Business and Entrepreneurship Minor
The minor in Business and Entrepreneurship for Creative Arts Professionals (BECAP) exposes students to entrepreneurial trends within an Arts & Humanities discipline. Students receive training from School of Business faculty in essential business skills, and deepen their communicative ability through a variety of media. Training is also provided in potential trade fields (art, writing, radio, journalism theater, dance, music, etc).
BECAP minors graduates are well-positioned to excel as self-employed artists, managers of creative companies, consultants, or founders of their own brand or nonprofit.
