Biography
Stacey Engels is a writer, teacher and consultant with extensive experience managing after school and supplemental educational programs in NYC. She holds an MFA in Playwriting from The New School (1997) and an MFA in Memoir from Hunter College (2017). Her plays have been produced and presented as staged readings in Canada, the US and Italy and she is the recipient of numerous grants and fellowships from, among others, NYFA, Theater Communications Group and the Canada Council for the Arts. Since earning a certificate from the Center for Arts in Healthcare Research and Education (CAHRE) at The University of Florida in Gainesville in 2009, she has taught creative writing in a wide variety of settings, including senior centers, The Fortune Society’s Alternative To Incarceration Program for Women and PEN American Center.
