Biography
G.D. Peters grew up in New York and Maine, and attended the State University of New York, earning a B.A. in English Literature from Binghamton University, and a J.D. from the University of Buffalo, before opening his own trial practice in Manhattan. He tried cases and wrote fiction for ten years, before closing his practice to write full-time. In 2006 he entered the MFA program in Creative Writing at City College, and began teaching as an adjunct the next fall. He earned his MFA in 2009, and has since taught at Lehman College, City College, Bard College Clemente Course in the Humanities, and Gotham Writers’ Workshop. Since 2006 he has served as Associate Editor of Fiction magazine, and has published his fiction in numerous literary journals. In addition to teaching, he is currently at work on a novel, a memoir, and a collection of stories.
