Biography
Dr. Maurice Tyrone Vann is a scholar specializing in forensic social work (social work in the courts/justice system), social work policy, and social justice issues. With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Baltimore and a master’s and Ph.D. from the City University of New York Graduate Center, Dr. Vann has dedicated his research to developing, implementing, and evaluating programs aimed at assisting formerly incarcerated people with reintegrating into society. His work also focuses on utilizing computational social sciences and emerging technologies to understand how incarceration and other pressing social issues impact urban families.
