Biography
Deborah is a seasoned marketing instructor, although she started her career a world apart from teaching and from marketing. After earning her BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware, Deborah started her professional career at the Du Pont Company where she held several positions in the various areas including nuclear energy processing, industrial polymers and medical products. During her time at Du Pont she earned her MBA with a concentration in marketing from Columbia University, Graduate School of Business. For five years she ran the Harlem Venture Group, then a non-profit financing and business services organization.
Currently, she teaches a full suite of marketing courses including marketing research, consumer behavior and Marketing Applications in a Digital World. She is passionate about marketing technologies and about helping students pursue careers in the ever-evolving marketing landscape. Her other academic interests include Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) where she gets to work with faculty and students in other countries through online asynchronous engagements.
She lives in Harlem, NY with her family.
