Laura Roberts

Laura Roberts is an Associate Professor of Counselor Education and the Clinical Coordinator of the School Counseling program. With a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology from the University of Connecticut, Dr. Roberts specializes in cognitive-behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and clinical mental health counseling. She has authored numerous publications, including chapters and articles on leadership in special education, college transitions, and collaborative counseling practices. Recognized for her excellence in teaching and mentorship, Dr. Roberts received Lehman College's Teacher of the ear Award in 200. Actively engaged in research and professional practice, she focuses on equitable counseling practices and supporting the mental health needs of diverse populations. She also shares her expertise through media appearances and presentations on topics such as election anxiety and strategies for educators and mental health professionals.
