M. Katie Brammer

Katie Brammer (She, Her, Hers), is a Counselor Educator, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) with experience as School Counselor. Katie's research and scholarship focus on youth suicide, experiences of 2SLGBTQIAP+ folx, and improving counselor education and culturally responsive care to meet the needs of youth and 2SLGBTQIAP+ folx in counseling and play therapy. Katie aims to facilitate culturally responsive learning spaces that create future change agents who effectively advocate for clients/students. As a white cisgender woman, Katie continues to critically evaluate her privilege and unlearn her own socialized biases, areas of weakness, and stereotypical beliefs. She is a lifelong learner seeking to improve herself personally and professionally as antiracist, culturally responsive counselor educator, scholar, counselor, play therapist, and supervisor.
