Biography

Avery was appointed Director of Academic Standards and Evaluation in 2024. Prior to her current role, Avery worked as an academic advisor for the Onboarding Advisement Office (formerly GPS). Before joining Lehman, Avery served as a faculty member, a staff member overseeing various fabrication spaces and a research assistant. During her studies, Avery was the recipient of several fellowships, including a fellowship at the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she assisted with several research projects and presented a final report to museum leadership. Avery holds a B.A. degree from Bowdoin College, a  M.A. degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a M.F.A. degree from University of Massachusetts Amherst.
