Welcome back to the Lehman community!
You are considered a readmit applicant if you previously attended Lehman College and did not complete your bachelor’s degree.
The steps in the readmission process are simple:
- To access the Undergraduate Readmission Application, please log in with your Lehman College email credentials, or click here to create an account.
- If you are eligible, you will receive an email notifying you that your application has been processed and you are active on CUNYfirst for the semester you have applied.
- If your academic record indicates that your GPA when you were last enrolled is below a 2.0, you must file an appeal for readmission. Appeals are filed with the Office of Academic Standards and Evaluation. For further information regarding the appeal process, please visit the Appeal FAQ page.
- There is a $20 readmission application processing fee which will be applied to your CUNYfirst account.
- Students who attended another institution after leaving Lehman College must meet our transfer admission standards. Official transcripts are required for all colleges/universities attended after leaving Lehman College and should be e-mailed electronically to admissions.documents@lehman.cuny.edu via the digital credential company (e.g. Parchment, E transcript(s), National Clearinghouse, Escripts) to which your previous school subscribe(s)
For additional information about the readmission process, please email: undergraduate.readmission@lehman.cuny.edu.
Students are considered non-degree when they audit or take courses without working toward a degree. The non-degree student attends classes for their own interests, to fulfill certain prerequisite or introductory classes necessary for another program, or to gain specific skills in their field without having to take a full degree program. However, credits earned by students with non-degree status may later be transferred to a degree program.
Please note that the admission requirements for non-degree students are the same as those for regular degree students. In addition, non-degree students register for courses on a space-available basis.
The steps to apply are as follows:
- Complete the Undergraduate Non-Degree Application
- Attach the document(s) that you are required to submit as instructed on the application.
- There is a $65 undergraduate non-degree application processing fee which will be applied to your CUNYfirst account.
- To access the Undergraduate Non-Degree Application, please log in with your Lehman College email credentials, or click here to create an account.
Students who previously attended Lehman College in a non-degree status and now wish to pursue a degree program must file a Transfer Application and submit official transcript(s) from all college(s)/institution(s) attended.
Students that are enrolled at a non-CUNY institution and seek to enroll in courses at Lehman for the current semester must apply as a visiting student. Permission to register as a visiting student is valid for one semester at a time. Visiting students must submit new documentation from their primary colleges for each succeeding semester.
To apply as a Non-CUNY Visiting Student, visit the Office of Special Academic Sessions website.
Students currently pursuing a degree at another CUNY college who wish to take a credit bearing course at Lehman are exempt from the application processing fee. They must submit an e-permit via CUNYfirst account. Tuition for courses taken at Lehman is paid at the student's primary college after the student has registered at both institutions. Detailed information about filing a CUNY e-permit is available here.
Through Lehman College’s Encore Program, New York State residents 60 years and older as of the first day of classes are permitted to enroll as auditors in Lehman College undergraduate courses on a space-available basis, tuition-free. Senior auditors will not receive academic credit. Individuals enrolling under this program are charged a $65 fee per semester, plus a $15 consolidated fee. Senior citizens who wish to enroll in credit bearing courses must complete the CUNY Freshman or Transfer Application and pay full tuition and fees. The steps to apply are as follows:
