Lehman College Student Exchange Programs
CUNY Students who participate Exchange programs will attend an overseas institution for a semester or academic year as full-time students. Students may have to meet certain requirements for acceptance into some programs. Students pay their tuition to the sponsoring CUNY College prior to departure. Students are eligible for Pell tuition assistance grants, State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and/or federal student loans as long as they meet their normal requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
- Students must have attended Lehman College for one year at the end of the semester in which they apply for the exchange program and a minimum GPA of 2.7.
- Lehman students participating in these exchange programs pay Lehman tuition, and continue receiving financial aid for which they are eligible.
- Students are responsible for costs of student visas, housing, books, living expenses and courses that are not included in the regular semester offerings at the host schools.
- Students are responsible for contacting their traveling country's consular offices in the U.S. to obtain their student visas.
- No specific major is required to apply to any program, but applicants should consult their academic advisors regarding courses they should be taking while abroad.
- Transfer students who have completed at least one full semester (minimum of 12 credits) at Lehman before the start of their program are eligible to apply for our exchange programs. Qualified transfer students with fewer than 12 completed Lehman credits may be considered on a case-by-case basis. All students who have transferred to Lehman must provide an official transcript from their previous institution(s) with their application.
France
University of Montpellier| Montpellier, France
Experience the fastest growing city in France! Travel to the South of France and experience the rich, lively culture of Southern France. Established in 1289, the University of Montpellier is one of the oldest in the world, located in one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Nearly one third of its population is composed of university students. The university is to students, including Lehman students. Lehman students will be able to take a variety of business courses while diving into French culture through the Institut d’Administration des Enterprises at the University of Montpellier. Business Students are encouraged to apply!

CUNY/Paris Exchange Program | Paris, France
For over thirty years, the CUNY/Paris Exchange Program has been promoting cultural exchange between thousands of CUNY and Parisian students. The New York/Paris Exchange Program offers all full-time CUNY students -undergraduates nd graduates of all disciplines— the opportunity to study at one of the Universities of Paris for one semester or a full academic year in the City of Lights.

Housing | Students receive help in finding two types of housing in Paris. They can be au pairs for French families, which involves 12 to 15 hours of service to the family — usually in the form of offering English conversation or help with English homework to the children of such families — in exchange for room and board. They can also share rented apartments in Paris with other students. |

Italy
CUNY/ Italy Exchange Program| Italy (Various Cities)
The CUNY/ITALY program is a student exchange between The City University of New York/CUNY and selected Italian Universities. This reciprocal exchange program aims to provide undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in CUNY with a focused core of knowledge and skills in their discipline while enabling them to experience life in Italy at the same tuition cost as a semester at CUNY. In addition, the students will gain a global perspective that helps them to achieve career goals in an increasingly interdependent world.

Japan
Sugiyama Jogakuen University| Nagoya, Japan
Immerse yourself in Japanese lifestyle and gain real world language experience. Nagoya is the fourth largest city in Japan and sits in the charming Aichi region of the country. It known for being the center of the automotive industry in Japan, home to big name factories here such as Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi. Wear Kimono, learn tea ceremony, visit historical sites, etc. Coupled with courses on Japanese language and culture, your language skills are to improve tenfold.

South Korea
Sungshin Women’s University| Seoul, Korea
Fond of Korean pop culture, and language? This is the program for you!
Located in Seoul, South Korea, Sungshin offers courses in English in various disciplines. Students can also enroll in Korean Language courses! At Sungshin University, Students will have the opportunity to experience Korean traditional culture first hand, including wearing Hanbok, learning Janggu dance, Korean etiquette, and more! Students from all majors are welcomed to apply.
