Computer Science Lab
The Computer Science Lab (CS Lab) provides tutoring and additional academic support for students pursuing computer science at Lehman. The CS Lab is committed to the following goals:
- Group tutoring which is offered on a drop-in basis
- Cultivate a collaborative environment for student learning
- Computer access for students to complete assignments
- Provides review sessions, which target student academic needs
Drop-in Group Tutoring
During the academic year students in MAT 128, CIS 166, CMP 128, 167, 168, 232, 269, 338, 567, 568 and 569 can receive tutoring help in GI Hall 222 in the following ways:
- Starting on 9/9 Monday thru Thursday: 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Study Hall
Open to all computer science students, if you need to self study topics you can come to the CS Lab in GI Hall 222 to study. You can borrow books, laptops, web cams, writing tables, use a Vibe Board to collaborate and learning together.

Blackboard Collaborate
For a live tutoring session, visit the online Computer Science Lab team via Blackboard Collaborate by clicking here. Please provide your first and last name when joining a tutoring session. Tutors will be available
- Mondays through Thursdays 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Saturdays 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Check the schedule to see which courses are available for support during live tutoring operation hours. Be advised if you try to log in and see an error message, please email at cs.lab@lehman.cuny.edu to get an availability update.
Send your request to cs.lab@lehman.cuny.edu. Provide your course number in your subject line. In your request, include as much detail as you can about what you are working on, and what area you need help in. Please attach screen shots of ZYBooks, MyMathLab, or other questions (Files in pdf format are preferred). Keep in mind that although tutors provide strategies and hints, they are not permitted to complete homework or assignments for you. You can expect a response within two business days. Please check your inbox or spam folder for the response email.

The Tech Annex, located in GI Hall Room 220, offers 16 workstations available for student use from Monday to Thursday, 12 PM to 9 PM. This space provides access to software and resources needed for studying and completing homework.
The following learning software is available on computer stations at the center:
- SPSS
- Maple (can be found at CUNY eMall here)
- Pearson MyLab
- ZYBooks
- Eclipse
- GeoGebra
- Python Idle
- Microsoft Office

Here is a link for the semester schedule (subject to change) and indicates the courses in which we provide support during the semester. Should we not have a tutor available for the course in which you need help, please contact these other academic support services on campus: SEEK Learning Resource Center (Old Gym 212), ACE (Old Gym 205), MS3 (GI 233A) and the Science Learning Center (Gillet Hall 133). If you would like to become a computer science tutor feel free to fill out the online application below (you can also pick up and drop off an application at the CS Lab) and email the completed application at cs.lab@lehman.cuny.edu. The online application form can be found at the following link. You must fulfill all the requirements to be considered. Tutors who can tutor both computer science and mathematics are in higher demand.
