POST-MASTER'S CERTIFICATE

The Post-Master’s Certificate Program in Family Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner are designed for registered nurses (RNs) who already hold a Master’s degree in Nursing.  These programs, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org), consist of a sequence of 7 courses, totaling 30 credits.

A gap analysis is completed on students’ transcripts to determine which graduate courses are transferable and those that need to be taken as part of the post-master’s certificate program. The graduates of these programs are qualified for NYS license as a nurse practitioner and eligible to take the national certification exam in their specialty areas.
