How to Apply to the R.N. to B.S Nursing Programs

The Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BS) program is a 37.5-credit major of the total 120 credits required for graduation. It is designed to specifically prepare Registered Nurses, with an unencumbered New York State license, for professional nursing practice and provides a foundation for graduate study in nursing. 

The RN-BS program is offered both fully online and in-person (Traditional RN-BS). The Traditional RN-BS program admits students for the fall semester only. 

Prerequisite courses:

• College-level chemistry
• HIN 268: Human Growth and Development, or their approved equivalents
• NYS RN license: Verification of active and unencumbered NYS license is required before registration in any nursing courses.

Steps to Apply:

1. Complete the CUNY Application to Lehman College
   • Applications for the online RN-BS program are accepted for both the Spring and Fall semesters.
   • The Traditional (in-person or hybrid) RN-BS program admits students for the Fall semester only.
   • To start your application, visit the CUNY Application Portal.
2. Upload Your RN License & Registration
   • Applicants who have already obtained their RN license and registration should upload a copy in the Supporting Materials section of the CUNY application.
   • If you have not yet taken or passed the NCLEX-RN examination, you should still submit your CUNY application to Lehman College by the priority deadline. You may submit proof of RN licensure after passing the NCLEX.
3. Admission Consideration
   • Upon admission to Lehman College, you will be considered for the RN-BS nursing program.
   • The Nursing Admissions Team will contact you via your registered email address on your CUNY application with additional information regarding your RN-BS program application and any outstanding requirements.
