"CUNY's visionary Strategic Plan underscores a strong commitment to "Outreach, Dissemination, and Communication initiatives," actively collaborating with Community Based Organizations (CBOs). Between November 2021 and May 2022, CIHE engaged in extensive outreach activities, encouraging active participation from Community Based Organizations (CBOs) across the Bronx. These efforts were part of the "Healthy-Bronx Research Collaborative" data call.

The data collection included gathering organizational information from CBOs, which was then used to create informative static and interactive maps, showcasing their respective locations, catchment areas, and population focus. Furthermore, a qualitative strength-based assessment (SBA) was conducted on a sample of CBOs. The results of this assessment are currently undergoing a peer-review process and will be promptly disseminated upon publication.

Additionally, this work incorporates maps that layer CBOs in correlation with key health determinants, utilizing datasets from diverse government sources, including (1) toxic release inventory facilities (EPA), (2) COVID vaccination rates (NYSDOH), (3) sociodemographic data (Census Bureau), and others.
