Teacher teaching children for LUTE Multi

Welcome to the LUTE MULTI Program

At Lehman Urban Transformative Education (LUTE MULTI), we are shaping the future of education in the Bronx. Our program prepares highly qualified multilingual teachers and school leaders to make a lasting impact in high-need schools. Through immersive teacher residencies, leadership training, and professional development, we empower educators to address the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Together, we are building stronger schools, transforming communities, and shaping brighter futures for the Bronx.

Program Overview

LUTE-MULTI is a transformative teacher residency and leadership program designed to prepare highly qualified educators for high-need schools in the Bronx. Multilingual teacher candidates pursuing certification in bilingual education, special education, or early childhood/elementary education, as well as aspiring school leaders seeking advanced leadership credentials, are encouraged to consider LUTE-MULTI as a pathway to achieving their professional goals.

Central to the program is a year-long paid residency in a high-needs school, where teacher residents co-teach alongside experienced educators and leadership fellows collaborate with school administrators. Participants complete a rigorous master’s degree program, fulfill NYSED certification requirements, and earn micro-credentials in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Multilingual Education, and Student Engagement, equipping them to lead and teach with excellence and equity.
