Welcome to the Middle Childhood Extension Advanced Certificate home page. Use this page as a guide to the program from acceptance to graduation.
The advanced certificate is designed for applicants with New York State teacher certification in grades 7-12 Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, English, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Physics, or Social Studies.

Program Sequence
To accommodate teachers, the courses are offered in the second half of every summer (Summer B schedule) fully online and asynchronous. Please visit the Academic Calendar.
Graduation
Graduation is the official completion of your program and conferral of an academic credential. To graduate, students must apply for graduation using CUNYFirst the semester before the semester of their planned graduation and complete any outstanding requirements by the stated deadlines.
Certification and Licensure
The Middle Childhood Extension Advanced Certificate program leads to New York State certification in grades 5-6. Students should email the Certification Office for the New York State Teach Account recommendation after the course grades have posted to their CUNYFirst accounts: teacher.certification@lehman.cuny.edu.
