Lehman College’s School of Business Becomes Part of NASA’s Technology Transfer University Program – T2U
Lehman College’s School of Business is excited to announce that it has been selected to participate in NASA’s Technology Transfer University Program (T2U), a forward-thinking educational initiative designed to foster collaboration between universities and NASA in bringing groundbreaking technologies to market.
This new partnership marks a major milestone in Lehman College’s continued commitment to providing students and faculty with unique opportunities to engage with the latest innovations in technology and entrepreneurship. Through the T2U program, the School of Business will gain access to NASA’s expansive portfolio of patents for emerging technologies, offering students the chance to contribute to projects that connect scientific discovery with practical, real-world applications.
Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The T2U program is designed to empower students and faculty across all academic disciplines to engage with NASA’s cutting-edge technologies, using them as a springboard for educational and entrepreneurial pursuits. Students will have the chance to explore real-world business and societal challenges, drawing from NASA’s patent portfolio to develop new applications that address those challenges. They will also have opportunities to collaborate with innovators across the country and engage directly with NASA scientists and engineers to explore potential commercial opportunities for these technologies.
“This partnership with NASA’s T2U program presents incredible opportunities for our students and faculty to work with some of the most advanced technologies in the world,” said Dr. Dene Hurley, Dean of the School of Business. “Through this collaboration, we aim to inspire our students to think outside the box and creatively apply scientific innovations to solve complex business problems.”
Bringing Disciplines Together for Greater Impact
While the T2U program will initially be incorporated into the School of Business’s entrepreneurship curriculum, the initiative is inherently interdisciplinary. All faculty and students are encouraged to participate, fostering an environment of collaboration across disciplines. The program will provide practical experience in areas such as technology commercialization, intellectual property management, and product development, offering students hands-on learning in how to bring ideas from concept to market. Faculty will also have the opportunity to collaborate with NASA on research and development projects, further enriching the college’s research capabilities.
Lehman College’s participation in the T2U program is part of a larger effort to provide students with immersive learning experiences that prepare them for the demands of the future workforce. The integration of NASA-developed technologies into the curriculum will help equip students with the skills needed to lead in industries that require both technical expertise and business savvy. Through this program, Lehman’s School of Business aims to prepare students for the future by cultivating skills such as adaptability, creativity, problem-solving, communication, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lehman College to the T2U program,” said Meredith Reeves, Director of NASA’s T2U. “We look forward to supporting the innovative spirit of Lehman’s students and working alongside them to bring their entrepreneurial ideas to life.”
