Traditional Irish Music in NYC

In 2009, Dr. Scott Spencer and Traditional Irish-American Musician in Residence John Redmond, organized concerts and lectures with a number of traditional Irish-American musicians. They hosted six public interviews/performances as a pilot project to document the face of Irish-American traditional music in New York City and in 2010, John Redmond organized an Irish music and dance session with Niall O'Leary at our annual dinner and a presentation on Irish and Yiddish music at Lehman College (see past events listing). John Redmond hosts a traditional session at An Béal Bocht Café at 4PM on Sundays each week. Scott Spencer currently is employed as Music Library Supervisor at the University of Southern California..
