The Institute for Irish-American Studies is a research unit of the City University of New York located on the Bronx campus of Lehman College. It supports research carried out by professors and graduate students at many of the campuses of the university.
The research of the Institute is shared with the local community through regular public events and with a larger audience through a variety of distance education courses and publications.
The Institute also maintains four centers of academic inquiry: The Center for Irish Language Acquisition Research, The Center for the Preservation of Irish-American Publications, The Center for Great Irish Famine & Immigration Studies, and The Center for Traditional Irish-American Music. We are exploring options in the Arts and Humanities.
