About Individual Counseling

  • Sessions focus on specific issues that affect academic, personal and social functioning
  • Counseling is an active process, with both the student and counselor participating
  • If long-term therapy and/or medication is recommended, students will be referred to a community mental health provider

  • Services to meet the needs of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender non-conforming, questioning, intersex, pansexual, and demi/asexual population.
  • The LGBTQIA+ Hub is a CUNY-wide initiative that includes information about campus events, LGBTQIA+ studies, leadership programs, and more.
  • Lehman is a Safe Zone host - enlisting members of faculty, staff, and student body to act as visible allies to LGBTQIA+ students
    • Participants attend a training workshop on LGBTQIA+ issues and violence prevention
    • Participants identify themselves as official allies by posting Safe Zone placards in their offices or on their desks, or by wearing Safe Zone pins and stickers.
