Building an Inclusive Digital Experience

Lehman College is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive digital experience for all members of our community, including students, faculty, staff, and all members of our college community. We believe everyone should be able to access the information, services, and resources they need through our websites, systems, and digital content.

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility and a shared commitment. Lehman College continuously works to improve the usability of its digital environment, identify and address barriers, and support equal access for individuals with disabilities.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Lehman College strives to make its digital resources accessible and usable by all. This includes websites, web applications, forms, documents, videos, and other digital tools used to support teaching, learning, administration, and campus life.

Our accessibility efforts are guided by and aligned with CUNY’s broader commitment to advancing inclusive, accessible, and equitable access to digital information, services, and resources. Consistent with this commitment, Lehman College supports access to higher education and strives to help ensure equitable outcomes for all students, including qualified students with disabilities. This commitment is rooted in our mission and informed by applicable state and federal laws, including Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which provides otherwise qualified students with the right to reasonable accommodations.

What We Are Doing

Lehman College continues to strengthen accessibility across its digital presence through a combination of planning, training, evaluation, and remediation efforts.

These efforts include:

❏ Evaluating digital resources for accessibility issues

❏ Correcting identified accessibility barriers where feasible and appropriate

❏ Providing guidance to campus administrators and instructional staff

❏ Supporting accessibility awareness and skill development across the institution

❏ Encouraging the use of accessible design, structure, and content practices
