Hana van der Kolk is a queer dancer, artist, and embodied learning, ritual, and celebration facilitator collaborating on Nipmuc (Western Massachusetts) and Mohican and Haudenosaunee lands (Hudson Valley). Hana spends time listening for/co-creating bridges through dance, performance, pedagogy, celebration, transformation, queer ecology, and dismantling empire inside and out. Hana has worked internationally as a teacher and facilitator, performer, and artist since 2001. They completed an MFA in Dance from UCLA and a practice-based Art PhD at RPI where their dissertation focused on queer friendship and somatic technologies for re-enchantment and recovery from the delusion of separateness. They are dedicated to learning and practicing an intersectional and politicized approach to art-making and somatic and healing work. More at hanavanderkolk.com.
