Celebrate Pride Month with literature, community, and delicious food! The Lehman College Division of Student Affairs, Bronx Health REACH, and the Literary Freedom Project invite Lehman students, staff, and our Bronx neighbors to a meaningful afternoon honoring diverse LGBTQIA+ identities.

This special gathering offers a welcoming space to connect, share, and build a deeper appreciation for the rich spectrum of life and love within our community. The Literary Freedom Project will host an engaging discussion centered on Akwaeke Emezi’s powerful novel, The Death of Vivek Oji, and will be distributing free copies of the book while supplies last. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn firsthand from local community members and allies.

To complement the conversation, a local chef will serve complimentary, healthy dishes specifically curated to bring out the cultural and narrative themes of the book.

You do not need to read the book in advance to participate and all are welcome! Bring an open mind, a love for reading, and your appetite.
