While I was at Lehman College I worked at a company called ClimateIQ located in SOHO.

Currently I am working as a GIS Database Engineer at Dignitas Technologies within the Lockheed Martin Orlando Facility.

Type of work you do there
At Lockheed Martin my primary responsibility is to assist with the Pilot Training Services Program. Each day I work with my colleagues on government contracts to help build 3D flight simulations using ArcGIS and a variety of other software programs.

Specific accomplishments of which you are most proud
My biggest accomplishment so far would be graduating with my Master's Degree from Lehman College. I originally never intended to go back to college after getting my Bachelor's Degree however, as time progressed new job opportunities became available and I honestly can say that I am so grateful that I decided to apply and to relocate to New York City to obtain higher education.

Geography or GISc activities and/or accomplishments, awards, internships, publications
None so far however, I am interested in publishing a journal or research paper one day.

Overall assessment of how Lehman’s EEGS Program prepared you for your current life
I can honestly say that The Lehman College EEGS Program prepared me very well for the "real world". The professor's at Lehman College provide a vast amount of tools and knowledge that set students their students up for success. Each week the professor's send out emails for job opportunities, internships, and interesting research articles. I find this very admirable that they go above and beyond to ensure the success of their students. I have attended multiple colleges and never have seen this level of quality before. In addition, all of the professors at Lehman College have experience working with companies and organizations outside of the college so they are aware of the demands and skill sets that are needed after graduating.

Comments on the EEGS Dep't program you were enrolled in
All students have the ability to find success within the EEGS Program however, it requires time, self-discipline, dedication, and ambition on the student's part. I used to spend so much time in the coffee shop near my apartment working on GIS projects and applying for GIS job opportunities that the baristas knew me by name. In the end all of my hard work and time spent in the coffee shop was worth it.

What else have you been up to? Details/news of personal life you would like to share (marriage, children, hobbies, interests, etc.)
Sometimes I miss New York City so I usually frequent Miami often to get that big city vibe and the blend of different cultures. I also have started traveling more often. Since graduating I have had more time available to explore the world and have created my own travel blog. Next week I'll be traveling to Dubai so will see how that goes.
