Submitting a Paper for Feedback (Asynchronous Tutoring)

Lehman students!

Did you know you can submit a draft for feedback from a writing tutor, as an alternative to meeting live with a writing tutor?
We’ll reply with tips and feedback, generally within 48 hours. Please review our instructions for using this service before submitting your paper.

Guidelines For Using ISSP’s Email-Based Tutoring Service – Please Read!

To use ISSP’s email-based response service, submit your paper via email to online.tutoring@lehman.cuny.edu. You should attach your paper as a Microsoft Word doc.
Be sure to use your Lehman College student email when submitting your paper, so that we can verify your Lehman student status.
Share with us the COURSE NAME & NUMBER (e.g., SOC 300, ENG 111, etc.). Additionally, in the body of your email, tell us where you are in the drafting process, and what you would like your tutor to focus on.
Attach the ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES. You can send the assignment guidelines as an attachment, or alternatively copy and paste the assignment into the body of your email. We won’t be able to respond to your paper unless we see the assignment guidelines, so please don’t forget this!

We’ll respond to you within 48 hours, with tips and feedback on your draft.

Please note the following restrictions to our email-based response service:

Your tutor cannot respond to more than five double-spaced draft pages per submission. If you submit a longer draft, please indicate the section or sections (not totaling more than five pages) that you would like your tutor to focus on.
Please limit submissions to one paper at a time. Submissions are limited to two drafts of a single paper in a given week.
In some instances, we may require up to 72 hours to respond. You will be notified if we anticipate any delay in responding to your paper.
We are a very small team, and may not be able to respond to all papers submitted. During peak periods, we may refer you to the Lehman Tutoring Center to meet with a writing tutor live.
ISSP email-based writing tutors do not have the capacity to respond to an entire class submitting their drafts at the same time. Faculty, please do not require your students to submit drafts as a group to our email-based response service. We will refer your students to live tutoring at the Lehman Tutoring Center.
