Dr. Dene Hurley is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Business at Lehman College-CUNY, where she teaches mainly statistics and economic courses. Dr. Dene Hurley’s research interest covers applied work in international finance and trade, focusing primarily on Asia and labor market-related areas such as the role of gender and Hispanic labor market issues. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, including Economics Papers, Gender in Management, Applied Economics, and Global Economic Review. Before joining Lehman College, Dr. Hurley was the Director of Maritime Research at the New York-based Port Import/Export Reporting Service (PIERS) of the Journal of Commerce. Hurley's other previous work experience includes roles as an economist with The Cadmus Group, Inc., a consulting firm in Waltham, Massachusetts, and the Ministry of Finance in the Seychelles. Dr. Hurley earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Northeastern University, a MSc. in Development Studies from University of Bath, U.K., and a BSc. in Economics from City-University of London.
