The Bronx, NY — June 24, 2026—Lehman College strengthens its commitment to workforce innovation and lifelong learning in the Bronx with the appointment of Azadeh Keivani as dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS), effective July 1.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Keivani to Lehman College,” said Fernando Delgado, Lehman College President. “As emerging technologies continue to reshape the workforce, Dr. Keivani’s leadership and commitment to building innovative programs will position the School of Continuing and Professional Studies to strengthen and expand opportunities for adult and non-traditional learners in The Bronx and its surrounding areas.”

Keivani brings a rare combination of scientific training, academic leadership, and industry experience. Her work spans NASA-funded research; faculty role at Columbia University; science mentorship at the American Museum of Natural History; technical leadership in data science and AI at Deloitte; and the founding of the nonprofit Digital Age Academy.

As dean, Keivani will lead SCPS’s academic and workforce programs, continuing education offerings, certificate programs, and the Adult Degree Program. She will also guide the School’s operations, focusing on strengthening academic quality, expanding partnerships with employers and community organizations, and enhancing pathways from education to employment in high-demand fields.

“Joining Lehman College is deeply meaningful to me because it brings together the core themes that have guided my career: education, innovation, and opportunity,” said Keivani. “Whether in higher education, nonprofit leadership, or technology, I have been driven by a commitment to expanding access to knowledge and creating pathways for people to transform their lives. I look forward to working with the talented faculty, staff, students, and community partners of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies to build new opportunities for lifelong learning and economic mobility.”

Keivani holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Louisiana State University and is a recipient of the American Physical Society Career Lectureship Award for excellence in translating scientific research into education and public impact.
