Biography
Shokran Rahiminezhad is a PhD candidate in the Environmental Psychology program in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. His dissertation examines the geographies of the 2018 Armenian Revolution, with broader research interests in social movements, urban political geography, collective memory, identity, public space, and everyday life.
At Lehman College, he teaches Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He also teaches GIS and urban studies courses at Hunter College. Rahiminezhad holds a master’s degree in social studies and has an academic and professional background in urban planning and design. Before beginning his PhD, he worked for several years as a professional urban planner and designer in multiple cities.
