2023 Updates

The Small Business Internship Program (SBIP), is a project funded by the City Council of New York involving a partnership between the newly formed School of Business and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at Lehman College. The goal of this project is to provide business students with applied business training and experience in the field. After an initial launch in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, SBIP has continued to help students impact their community.

The Cannabis Workforce and Business Development program wraps up its first year of efforts having succeeded in our mandate to support the new cannabis workforce and small business entrepreneurs.

2022 Updates

The Small Business Internship Program (SBIP), formerly the Small Business Consulting Practice program (SBCP), is a project funded by the City Council of New York involving a partnership between the newly created School of Business, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS), the Bronx Tech Center and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The goal of this project is to create a virtuous circle by providing Lehman business students with applied business training and experiential learning while at the same time supplying Bronx-based small businesses with needed support and resources in the form of student interns. The program was revamped and relaunched in Summer/Fall 2022 after a pause due to COVID19.

2021 Updates

Marketing tag: Growing your business during COVID-19 and other times of crisis. Now is the time to re-think your marketing plan, upgrade your technology skills, and capture market share. Join Lehman College faculty in a workshop series focused on digital marketing and leveraging technologies to reconnect with your clients and find new clients. This workshop series culminates in being matched with an individual VERIZON technology mentor, who will coach you through identifying and evaluating different digital marketing solutions to help grow your business.

2020 Updates

The Small Business Consulting Practice (SBCP) program is a project funded by the City Council of New York involving a collaboration between the Department of Economics and Business and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at Lehman College. The goal of this project is to provide business students with applied business training and experience. The selected students committed to attend to three (3) months of training workshops during the Summer and the Fall 2019, followed by one (1) month of internships with the small businesses. 34 businesses were served in total.

Lehman College remains the only CUNY to house the Virtual Reality Academy and has been offering training programs since 2017 at its offsite Bronx location called CUNY on the Concourse (COTC).
