Luis Soltero-Rodriguez, director of Lehman College’s Office of Veterans and Military Affairs, has been named to the 2026 New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame by the office of Senator Luis Sepulveda.

The Hall of Fame recognizes New York veterans who have distinguished themselves in military and civilian life.

“It truly is an honor to be inducted into the 2026 New York State Veterans Hall of Fame,” said Soltero-Rodriguez. “It was an unexpected, but humbling experience.”

At Lehman, Soltero-Rodriguez oversees the office’s daily operations and supports military service members, veterans, and dependents as they apply for and manage VA education benefits.

Under his leadership, Lehman repeatedly has been named a “Military Friendly school,” with events that connect veterans with one another, the Lehman community, and potential employers, while strengthening camaraderie within the College’s veteran student community.

“As a US Army combat veteran, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our nation's heroes in pursuit of their higher education degrees for their personal and professional development” he said.
