How One Student is Building a Computer Science Community
October 26, 2026
Computer science major Mahfoudh Senhoury was recently featured in the Center for Smart Streetscapes (CS3) newsletter for launching a student research workshop series at Lehman.
Senhoury developed the idea after spending nine weeks in the CS3 summer research program at Florida Atlantic University, where he worked on a digital simulation of a Boca Raton traffic corridor. The project examined how a proposed new road could affect traffic patterns, revealing that it could actually increase travel times across the network.
Back at Lehman, Senhoury launched a Friday workshop series to give students opportunities to present their research, demonstrate projects, and exchange ideas. He opened the series with a presentation on his own summer research. Watch it on YouTube.
