The 2nd Annual Interdisciplinary Innovations Speaker Series, scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, will be hosted by the CUNY Institute for Health Equity in collaboration with the Leonard Lief Library, the Department of Health Promotion and Nutrition Sciences, the School of Business, and the Office of Campus Life at Lehman College.

This year’s distinguished speaker is Dr. Jola Ajibade of Emory University. Dr. Ajibade’s scholarship draws from a wide range of fields, including political ecology, social justice, women’s studies, health sciences, urban studies, sustainable economic development, small business, geography, philosophy, and human rights. She has authored and edited numerous scholarly publications and serves on several climate‑related journals. Her work in the ClimTransformLab focuses on how individuals, communities, and cities respond to global environmental change—and on their adaptive capacities for resilience, transformation, and long‑term sustainability.
