Biography

Ms. Jasmin Clavasquin, Director of Government and External Affairs joined Lehman College in February of 2023. She serves as liaison for local, state, and federal government officials while representing the College in developing strong working relationships with community boards, advocacy and civic groups. Ms. Clavasquin plans, coordinates, and executes visits to elected and agency officials and community leaders, sets overall strategies to advance College or Unit programs, monitors State and City budget negotiations, and presents positions on issues impacting the College and its broader constituencies.

Jasmin previously served as Chief of Staff for New York State Assemblyman Jose Rivera in The Bronx, NY from November 2006 to June 2022. During her tenure, she managed district-wide constituent services operations, assisting clients with intakes, resource referrals, counseling, job placement assistance, non-profit consulting, tenants’ rights issues, school safety issues, and more. She acted as liaison to Bronx Community Boards 6 and 7, the NYC Department of Education, the State Legislature, and United States Congressional Offices.
