Areas of Scholarship:  History of Western Political Thoughts; Classical Non-Western Social and Political Thoughts; Cross-Cultural Political Philosophies; Asian Political Thought.

Prof. Kim’s long range interest is in comparative political thought. In addition to many articles in Korean, his publications include: “Confucianism and Modernization,” Korea Society (April 1993); “Cost of Unification,” Korea Society (1993); “Theodor Adorno,” in Encyclopedia of World Biography (McGraw Hill, 1981); “Hegel’s Criticism of Chinese Philosophy,” in Philosophy East and West (April 1978); “An Ch’ang-ho’s Conception of Political Education,” Journal of Korean Affairs (July 1975).
