Biography

Professor Tormey

Professor Tormey holds a BBA in Marketing Management from Zicklin School of Business-CUNY-Baruch College and an MBA in Marketing from LaPenta School of Business-Iona University. With a rich career spanning Wall Street, Consumer Finance, and retail, Professor Tormey began his executive journey as a Corporate Ladies Dress Buyer for Sears Roebuck, where he spent nine years honing his expertise. His extensive experience continued as he served for 17 years as a Corporate Divisional Merchandise Manager at Belk Stores. In 1999, he founded Real Deals USA, Inc., a wholesale corporation specializing in ladies' and men's accessories. Currently, he imparts his knowledge as a professor at Lehman College and Baruch College, teaching large lecture courses on Marketing Management, while also contributing to Fordham University’s THE GROUND FLOOR initiative and teaching at Pace University, Manhattan College, and Mercy University. Professor Tormey's professional interests include Sales Management, Brand Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Consumer Behavior, Off-Price Retailing, and Advertising. In addition to his teaching and editorial role with Fashion Manuscript, he actively pursues entrepreneurial ventures and stock market investing.
