Biography
I am currently serving as Associate Dean, but my home is in the Early Childhood and Childhood Education Department (ECCE). My scholarship examines bilingualism in early childhood, early childhood education, and conditions impacting Latine children.
Wherever I serve, it is my privilege to support a vision of transformative, liberatory education for both teacher candidates and their own young students.
In my own career, I have worked with young children and families for over 30 years in various settings and roles - Social Worker, Head Start Director, Program Coordinator, School Principal, and Professor in the Early Childhood and Childhood Education.
Having worked in linguistically diverse communities for all my career, I am an advocate for bilingual education and democratic models of parental involvement.
