Biography
Dr. Qian, Professor of Literacy Education, is Interim coordinator of the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership (EDOL) program. He has been a member of the faculty at Lehman College since 1993. His research has focused on epistemological thinking, text learning, and early literacy development. He has published on a variety of topics such as word recognition, early literacy among young children from immigrant families, mediated discussions and literacy assessments, and the role of epistemological beliefs in teaching and learning. His most recent publication is on the methodological issues in survey research used to investigate 0-3 young children's early literacy development in China.
