Biography
Alison Abreu is the Associate Director of Educational Development at the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Lehman College, where she leads initiatives that support faculty success, onboarding, and collaborative program development across the college. She is also the founder and co-chair of the Excellence in Education and Community Conference (EECC), a campus-wide initiative that highlights and celebrates impactful teaching, learning, and community engagement.
Before joining the CTL, Alison worked in the Provost’s Office as a Faculty Development and Communications Specialist. She brings over 15 years of experience in project management and marketing communications, grounding her work in both strategy and execution.
A proud Bronx native and two-time Lehman alum, Alison holds a Master of Organizational Leadership and a BA in Hearing Speech Sciences with a minor in Education. She is passionate about advancing equity in education and supporting underrepresented and special education populations.
As an Adult Degree Program graduate and adjunct faculty member, Alison draws on her own journey to support and inspire adult learners. She teaches IBA 135: Learning Inside and Outside of the Classroom.
She also serves on the boards of Sinergia NYC, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families, and Bronx Eats, a community-focused organization that works to build a more equitable, healthy borough by teaching practical cooking skills, promoting wellness, and fostering community connections.
