M. Waterson, Ph.D., Biological Sciences

Michael Waterson came to Lehman College in 2022, having spent the previous six years teaching at Chattanooga State Community College and Georgia State University. Dr. Waterson earned a BA in Biology at Washington University in St Louis and a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Michigan where his research focused on understanding the regulation of metabolism by sensory signaling. Prior to beginning his teaching career, he completed a research fellowship at Yale University in neuroscience. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses, Dr. Waterson serves as the faculty advisor for the Lehman Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta National Biology Honors Society.
