Dr. Rossen Petkov is the Chair of the Department of Accounting and a Full Professor at the School of Business, Lehman College, CUNY. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria, an M.P.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. in Economics and Statistics from the University of Rochester.

A licensed CPA in New York and a member of the AICPA, Dr. Petkov also holds the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation. His research interests include accounting for internally generated intangible assets, prehistoric accounting, fraud, and taxation, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals such as the International Journal of Digital Accounting Research and Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting. He also reviews for several academic journals.

Before joining Lehman College, Dr. Petkov worked as a senior auditor at KPMG, focusing on audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for major public and private companies across various industries, including oil and gas, service, manufacturing, and retail.
