Jennifer Hensch, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD - Class of 2012
Jennifer Hensch is a NYS licensed and ASHA certified (CCC) speech-language pathologist who holds a New York State Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate. Ms. Hensch graduated summa cum laude from Iona College in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree (B.A) in speech-language pathology and audiology. She continued on to earn her master’s degree (M.A) in speech-language pathology from CUNY Lehman College. During Ms. Hensch’s time at Lehman she gained invaluable experience in the classroom, clinical setting, and through the mentorship of gifted faculty members. She spent much of her time in the aphasia clinic with her clients and led the weekly book club meetings. Ms. Hensch further expanded upon her skill set at her externship with Professor Barrera at a multi-disciplinarian neurorehabilitation center. She acquired over 250 hours of experience treating patients with aphasia, dysphagia, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and dementia. Ms. Hensch enjoyed her time in the CUNY Graduate Center lab with Professor Rota-Donahue assisting with her Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) study.
Ms. Hensch is currently working as a speech-language pathologist at City Sounds of NY, a private practice that contracts through the Department of Education. She has provided speech and language services in a variety of settings including home-based therapy, Head Start programs, pre-schools, public schools (K-8), private schools (K-8 & high school), and charter schools. Ms. Hensch works on the Upper East Side providing home-based therapy for children with various medical conditions, sensory processing disorders, and hearing impairments. Ms. Hensch is a certified practitioner of Therapeutic Listening Therapy. She is also a Guardian NMES trained specialist experienced in delivering speech/language services paired with neuromuscular electrical stimulation.
Bethany Reddy, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD - Class of 2012

Bethany Reddy is a NYS licensed and ASHA certified (CCC) speech-language pathologist who holds a New York State Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate. Ms. Reddy graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Geneseo in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in communicative disorders and sciences and a minor in human development. Ms. Reddy also earned an Initial License as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) during her undergraduate studies. Upon graduation, Ms. Reddy obtained a position as a Teacher of Speech Improvement in a New York City public school, working with students from kindergarten to 8th grade with a wide range of needs and skills. In 2012, Ms. Reddy went on to earn her master’s degree (M.A) in speech-language pathology from CUNY Lehman College while continuing her work at the school. While studying at Lehman, Ms. Reddy was provided with the knowledge necessary to target the pertinent issues in the speech-pathology field, including language, articulatory, fluency, auditory, and neurological development, as well as the disorders associated with these areas. Ms. Reddy obtained invaluable experiences both within the Lehman Speech and Language Clinic and during her externship placements – one at a neurogenic rehabilitation facility that specialized in the treatment of individuals with aphasia, dysphagia, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and dementia and the second at a summer program targeting the needs of children with Autism.
Ms. Reddy is beginning her seventh year working as a Teacher of Speech Improvement at the NYC public school in which she first began. During her time here, she has acquired expertise in addressing articulation and language disorders in school-aged children and has had the opportunity to work with a multitude of children with unique and challenging conditions. Additionally, she conducts speech and language evaluations after school for the Department of Education, during which she has the opportunity to work with a diverse population unique to that of the students she works with on a daily basis. Ms. Reddy also conducts private Early Intervention therapy within client’s homes and in pre-school based settings.
Aviva Wilner, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD - Class of 2012
After completing her Bachelors of Science with Summa Cume Laude at Touro College, Aviva enrolled at Lehman College and completed her Masters of Arts in Speech Pathology in 2012. At Lehman she discovered her passion for working with school age students with speech and language disorders.
Aviva is licensed in NY state, ASHA certified, and a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities. She currently works in Riverdale, NY at a private elementary school with students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade. Aviva lives with her husband and infant son. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, and reading.
Christine L. Neumayer, M.A., CCC-SLP, TSSLD, CBIS - Class of 2010
Christine Neumayer is licensed in the state of NY, ASHA Certified, a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD), and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). She is currently employed at Blyth dale Children’s Hospital (BCH) in Westchester, NY. Christine has a primary interest in cognitive- linguistic rehabilitation, motor speech, and language disorders with the pediatric and adolescent population. Christine has extensively evaluated and provided EBP treatment to adolescents who have suffered from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and acquired brain injuries resulting from but not limited to strokes, anoxia, brain tumors, and NMDA encephalitis. Christine is an LSVT LOUD certified clinician with experience using the technique in the adolescent and pediatric population. Christine enjoys sharing her clinical knowledge and providing feedback to students in her role as a graduate student supervisor at BCH. Along with servicing patients at BCH, part of her duties includes providing school based speech and language services to school age students in various towns and cities in Westchester, NY. Prior to working at BCH, Christine completed her clinical fellowship at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children where she treated medically fragile children from birth to age 3.
Christine received her Master Degree (M.A.) in Speech Pathology from Lehman College. During her college career Christine was active within the department. She held a research assistant position in the Child Language Lab led by Dr. Seiger- Gardner throughout her undergraduate and graduate programs. She presented a poster at the 2008 ASHA convention. Christine was the NSSLHA Lehman Chapter President and revised a chapter in the Communication Sciences Student Survival Guide published by Delmar, 2010.
Ronit Jacobs (formerly Ronit Moritz) - Class of 2010
After completing her B.A in communication disorders at Rutgers College, Ronit moved to Israel where she fulfilled her requirements at Tel Aviv University to attain her license as an SLP, subsequently working in special education settings, as well as treatment centers such as the Milman Center in Haifa. Returning to the US eleven years later, she enrolled at Lehman College to complete her M.A. and graduated in September of 2010.
Presently, she is working in the North Plainfield School District in New Jersey. Ronit lives in Westfield, NJ with her husband, two teenage daughters and their dog, Bella. She enjoys weekend hikes with Bella, catching up on classics she missed along the years and indie films.
Continuing Education Opportunities
Graduates of the M.A. program in Speech-Language Pathology are invited to attend any Continuing Education (CE) activity sponsored by the Department at a reduced fee of $90.
