Instructional Support Services Program/Tutoring
The mission of the Instructional Support Services Program (ISSP) is to facilitate students’ development as independent and collaborative learners through individual and group tutoring, workshops, and by providing access to educational technologies. The ISSP strives to support students’ academic work and foster their participation in lifelong learning.
Lehman College’s Instructional Support Services Program (ISSP) is home of the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) and Science Learning Center (SLC). The ISSP provides Lehman students with the opportunity to achieve academic success through the guidance and encouragement of peer tutors and leaders, coaches, and professional staff members. Students and faculty are invited to utilize the services offered through the ISSP, which include academic skills workshops, Supplemental Instruction (SI), Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL), Academic Coaching, and tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students seeking to improve their skills in writing and content knowledge in specific courses. At the ISSP, most of our tutors are certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
