Special Academic Sessions

FAQs

What is the Winter Session?

The Winter Session is a short, highly condensed term offered between the Fall and Spring semesters. The Winter Session provides Lehman students, and students visiting from other institutions, the opportunity to accelerate their studies by taking courses during the Winter break. Lehman College hopes to provide students with even more course options as the session grows in popularity.

How many credits may I register for during the Winter Session?

Students are able to register for up to six credits during the Winter Session.  Visiting students should not register for courses at multiple institutions in order to circumvent the Winter Session credit cap. Given the very abbreviated nature of the Winter Session, many students find taking only one course to be a better option.

Is Financial Aid available for the Winter Session?

Visiting students are not eligible to receive aid or loans to cover cost of attendance during the Winter Session. Lehman College students should refer to the Registration Guidelines for more information.

When can I register for Winter Session courses?

Registration for the Winter Session will begin in early November and concludes the day before classes begin. Late registration for the term will be held on the first day of classes.
