Kenneth Schlesinger, Chief Librarian
Welcome to Lehman College’s Leonard Lief Library. I’m Kenneth Schlesinger, Chief Librarian. Please think of us as your Library – we’re here to support you with research, books, electronic databases, eJournals, computer technology, and Information Literacy instruction.
You will find us different from other libraries. We function as a campus cultural center, offering Readings, Exhibits, and special events. We’re also a Center for Innovation – we like to think new technologies are introduced first in the Library to facilitate access to online resources and multimedia projects. In fact – we were the first CUNY Library to circulate iPads and eReaders – and one of the first libraries in the country to offer Mobile Information Literacy instruction on handheld devices – as well as Flipped Classroom strategies for library instruction.
Moreover - with exchanges with libraries in China, Costa Rica, Cuba, and South Africa – we regard ourselves as a truly global institution. Primarily, however, we’re here to support student academic momentum and faculty research. What’s our most valuable resource? Any guesses? It’s not a trick question.
We consider our talented and creative library faculty to be our major resource. Please partner with us - we’re here to serve you.
