Mila Burns
Mila Burns
Assistant Professor

School of Art & Humanities
Dr. Mila Burns earned her PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center in Latin American history with a certificate in Africana studies (2017), an MA from Columbia in Latin American studies (2012) and an MA in social anthropology from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2006), and a BA in journalism, also from the Universidade Federal (2002). Her dissertation, about Brazil’s influence on the dictatorial regime in Chile, is being considered for publication; she currently has a book under contract about the social impact of the Brazilian singer-composer Dona Ivone Lara, and previously published a book on the same artist in Brazil. In addition to her teaching experience at CUNY, she has worked as a journalist for a wide range of international publication and served as the administrative director for the CUNY Graduate Center’s Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies.

Jose Gomez-Gonzalez

Dr. Jose E. Gomez-Gonzalez is an Associate Professor of Finance and Economics for Lehman College of The City University of New York.  He did his undergraduate studies in Bogotá, Colombia. After obtaining a B.A. degree in economics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, he pursued graduate studies at Cornell University, receiving an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics. His fields of interest are financial economics, macroeconomics, and real estate finance. He is passionate for teaching. He worked for the Central Bank of Colombia, holding several senior-level positions like director of the Department of Market Operations and Development. Jose also worked for several Colombian universities. He has published widely in leading economics, finance, and real estate journals.

Amanda N. Gulla

Dr. Amanda Nicole Gulla is a Professor of English Education at Lehman College, and Coordinator of the graduate program in English Education. Her teaching and scholarship are both intimately connected to her work as a poet, as she brings aesthetic education and ekphrastic poetry into the English Language Arts classroom. She serves as a member of the Anti-Racism Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee of the Department of Middle and High School Education, Chair of the Arts and Inquiry in the Visual and Performing Arts in Education SIG of AERA, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Maxine Greene Institute.

Maria-Isabel Roldós-Prosser

School of Health Sciences, Human Services & Nursing

Dr. Maria-Isabel Roldós is an Associate Professor with the Department of Health Equity, Administration and Technology - HEAT at the School of Health Sciences, Human Services & Nursing. Prior to joining Lehman in 2020, she served in various U.S. federal institutions including NIH and CDC, as well as held high leadership positions in the implementation of population-based projects including: country director of a USAID project related to capacity building of civil society organization (CSOs); Associate Dean of the School of Public Health and co-founder of the Schools of Medicine and Public Health’s Global Health program; and as Health Commissioner of the capital of Ecuador-Quito (2014-2016).

Her current research portfolio is focused on community and population health in the Bronx, NY.  She is leading three research projects: 1)A study of housing a structural determinant of health and its impact of health related quality of life; 2) contingent valuation on Bronx's residents' willingness to pay to reduce violent crime in the Bronx, NY; and 3) conducting a community-based participatory research project titled: "Healthy Bronx Collaborative"  to reduce health disparities.

Renato Ghini Bettiol

School of Natural & Social Sciences

Renato Bettiol is originally from Campinas, Brazil, obtained his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Notre Dame in 2015, joined CUNY in 2018 and is currently an assistant professor of Mathematics at Lehman College and Graduate Center. His research focuses on how curvature and global shape interact, and stability of geometric objects under symmetry-preserving deformations.

Michelle Ehrenpreis

Michelle Ehrenpreis is Electronic Resources Librarian (Assistant Professor) at Lehman College-CUNY, where she is responsible for acquisition and management of electronic collections and their budgetary oversight. She also assists in maintaining the library website, online learning initiatives, and library events. Her research interests include electronic resource management and emerging technologies in libraries. Michelle’s research has been featured in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Web Librarianship, The Reference Librarian, and Urban Library Journal.
John DeLooper
John DeLooper
Assistant Professor

Leonard Lief Library
John DeLooper is Web Services - Online Learning Librarian (Assistant Professor) at Lehman College - CUNY, where he has worked since 2018. His research primarily focuses on libraries and technology, and has appeared in Information Technology and Libraries, the Code4Lib journal, and more. He earned his M.L.I.S. from Rutgers University in 2010 and his M.S. in Information Systems from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business in 2017.
