Student Speakers
The Honors Convocation Committee invites our 2023 College Latin Honors recipients to apply to be the Honors Convocation’s Student Speaker during the Ceremony. The candidate selected will march to the stage with Lehman College’s President, Provost, Deans, Associates Deans and other Administrators, and will sit on the dais. The Honors Convocation Student Speaker’s name will also be featured among those of the other speakers and presenters on the official 2023 Honors Convocation program.
Students who would like to apply for this honor are invited to submit, in writing, a proposed speech no longer than 250 words in length. Proposed texts should be typewritten and double-spaced. Please place your name, cell phone number, e-mail address, EMPL ID #, and your major at the top of the first page. Please submit your speech to honors.lehman@lehman.cuny.edu.
Candidates for this honor may choose any subject appropriate for this festive occasion and are encouraged to focus their remarks upon such topics that will illustrate the significance of this great milestone in their lives and those of their fellow honorees. References to fellow honorees’ achievements and support received by family and friends are encouraged.
