Honors Convocation FAQs
Do I need to wear Graduation Regalia (cap and gown)?
No. Commencement regalia (cap and gown) is NOT required nor encouraged at Honors Convocation.
Will my name be announced and will I be invited to the stage?
Yes. Your name will be announced and you will be invited to the stage to receive your earned Honors cord.
Will I receive a certificate?
College Latin Honors are officially annotated on the transcripts and diplomas of students who have graduated.
I cannot attend the Honors Convocation; can I pick up my earned cord before Commencement?
Yes. You can pick up your earned Honors cord prior to Commencement. Make sure to bring your ID. Without your ID, you cannot receive the cord. Please see schedule and pick up locations below:
- Wednesday, May 17th from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm in Shuster Hall, Room 379
- Tuesday, May 23rd from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm in Shuster Hall, Room 379
- Thursday, June 1st (COMMENCEMENT DAY) from 7:00 am – NOON in front of Science Hall, Campus Walk
I think I have met the Latin Honors Eligibility and Criteria requirements.
If you believe you have met the Latin Honors requirements and have not received an email, please follow the following steps:
- Review the list of 2023 Latin Honors recipients (please include hyper link to open to another page).
- If your name is listed, please email honors.lehman@lehman.cuny.edu and include your FULL name, EMPL ID and a detailed request (i.e., my name is on the list but I have not received an email invitation to the Honors Convocation.
- If your name is NOT listed, please follow step 2.
- Email registrar.office@lehman.cuny.edu and include your FULL name, EMPL ID and detailed request (i.e., after reviewing the requirements, I believe I have met the criteria for Latin Honors. Please verify my eligibility. Once you receive a response,
- You are verified and meet the criteria. The Planning Committee will be notified and you will receive the detail email invitation.
- You do NOT meet criteria. Graduation is a major achievement with or without Latin Honors, CONGRATULATIONS.
