Marina StoplerMarina Tsougranis Stopler is the Dietetic Internship Director and Lecturer in the Dietetics, Food, and Nutrition Program. She has been DI Director since 2014 and teaching at Lehman since 1996.
Professor Stopler received her BS in Biology from SUNY Binghamton and her MS degree in Applied Physiology and Nutrition from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) since 1991 and is a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN). In 1994 she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

She has worked as a physical fitness instructor, a researcher in the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (formerly the Bronx VA), and a director for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program for Montefiore Medical Center.

Professor Stopler’s interests are in life cycle nutrition, community nutrition, and sustainability. She was active in starting an edible school garden in her local school district which is still active today, 15 years later. She has been a board member of the Westchester/Putnam/Rockland Lactation Consortium, Inc. (now the Tristate Breastfeeding Association), and the New York Milk Bank. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Westchester Rockland Dietetic Association (WRDA) and Slow Food USA.


For the past six years she has been on the board of the Pleasantville Farmers Market. Marina Stopler coordinates events for Health and Sustainability which includes her Nutrition Bits and Bites series.
